GrandmotherGrandmothers old jewelry sat collecting dust from years of neglect. It was in a small box with antique cloisonne top and oak sides. The inside was faded and slightly torn red velvet. The soft foam that once held rings erect now barely held to the surface of any object placed in it. I used to open it as a child staring into the past. Her memories, loves, loses, pains, all were embedded deep into these timeless trinkets. Now faded and dull, where they were once bright and new. I place the jewelry box back on the shelf and think of years to come when I could have my own special box of ancient memories.Grandmother
